Person in charge of classroom teaching activities

This is the person who carries out teaching activities in a classroom on behalf of the university:

  • course teachers
  • contract lecturers
  • assistants
  • auxiliary teaching staff and all persons appointed to teach.

The person in charge of classroom teaching activities holds the function of Supervisor. Duties include:

  • overseeing students’ compliance with any safety instructions they have been given
  • ensuring that classroom seating capacity is not exceeded
  • promptly informing the Health and Safety Services Unit of any dangerous conditions that arise during lessons or about which they become aware
  • implementing emergency procedures, paying particular attention to people with reduced or no mobility
  • making sure, in the event of evacuation, that everyone leaves the classroom in an orderly fashion and accompanying students to the safe area specified in the evacuation plan
