Workers’ Health and Safety Representative
The Workers’ Health and Safety Representative (in Italian RLS) is the “person, elected or appointed to represent workers with regard to aspects concerning health and safety at work”.
The Workers’ Health and Safety Representative’s duties include:
- Entering and inspecting workplaces
- Consultation on risk assessments
- Consultation on the appointment of the Health and Safety Officer (in Italian RSPP), Health and Safety Operators (in Italian ASPP), the Company Occupational Physician (in Italian MC) and emergency teams
- Consultation on aspects of training
- Receiving information on risk assessments, preventive measures, occupational accidents and diseases
- Attending regular health and safety meetings
- Proposing preventive measures
- Lodging appeals with the competent authorities
